In 2015 Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) is going to increase SSJ 100 output to 50 jets per year, RIA Novosti reports with reference to SCAC Senior Vice President, Development and After-Sales Support, Andrei Nedosekin.
“We manufactured 41 SSJ 100 aircraft in 2014 as planned. However, due to financial difficulties experienced by UTair the carrier is unable to take delivery of four jets of the type. Thus, we have delivered 37 aircraft to the customers. In 2015 we are going to manufacture and deliver 50 SSJ 100s,” he noted.
In summer 2013 SCAC Senior Vice-President Artem Pogoyan said that SCAC is going to increase the output to 60 SSJ 100 liners per year by 2015. Last year the enterprise assembled 25 SSJ 100s, in 2012 — 12 ones, in 2011 — only four ones. In 2014 the output increased tenfold compared to 2011.
Sukhoi SuperJet 100 is Russian-produced short-haul passenger aircraft. The jet performed its maiden flight in May 2008; its commercial operation was started in 2011. Aeroflot is the largest operator of SSJ 100 jets in Russia. So far SSJ 100 has been certified of AR IAC, EASA, Mexican, Lao and Indonesian aviation authorities.
At present 36 aircraft of the type are being operated: 13 ones – by Aeroflot, 11 ones by Interjet (Mexico), 2 ones – by Yakutia Airlines, 3 ones – by Center-South, 7 ones – by Gazpromavia, one jet of the type – by Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
