Russia is going to perform seven launches from Baikonur cosmodrome during the period from December 2014 to February 2015, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a source close to the space industry.
“Proton-M launch vehicle with Yamal-401 communications satellite was launched on December 15th 2014. RS-18 launch vehicle with Kondor-E spacecraft will be launched on December 18th 2014. Soyuz-2.1b will place Resurs-P satellite into orbit on December 26th. The postponed (due to technical problems) launch of Proton-M with Astra 2G satellite (EU) is scheduled for December 28th,” the source explained.
According to him, the first launch in 2015 will be performed on January 30th 2015 – Proton-M launch vehicle with Inmarsat 5F2 communications satellite will be launched from Baikonur. The launch of Soyuz-U with Progress M-26M transport spacecraft (will dock with ISS) is scheduled for February 17th. Moreover, on February 20th Proton-M with military satellite will be launched.
On December 18th Russia will also take part in launch of Soyuz ST-B launch vehicle with O3B satellite (EU) from Kourou spaceport located in French Guiana.
