Irkut Corporation made another step towards promotion of its products in Africa. It signed a memorandum with the largest private aerospace company of Republic of South Africa (RSA) – Paramount Group, TASS reports.
“The parties will carry out joint feasibility studies of potential opportunities for industrial and technological cooperation aimed at promotion of products manufactured by Irkut Corporation at the African market,” said in the document.
Delegation of Irkut Corporation headed by Vladimir Sautov, Vice-president on Marketing and Foreign Economic Cooperation, visited facilities of the Paramount Group. “Industrial, technological and marketing capabilities as well as commitment to cooperate with us demonstrate that the company may become an important partner of Irkut Corporation in this region,” representative of the corporation, Gennady Prishepa, said.
In November Irkut came to an agreement with Pamodzi Group in terms of promotion of MS-21 aircraft in the regions of Africa located South of Sahara. The agent agreement was signed in the network of Russia-RSA Intergovernmental Committee on trade and economic cooperation.
The agreement includes 30 MS-21 jets with an option for 10 more vehicles of the type (the airliners may be sold after the launch of MS-21 mass production). Testing of the new aircraft is set to begin in 2016.
“The agreement means that Irkut enters the RSA market with further promotion in the regions located south of Sahara,” Prishepa said.
