Aeroflot won the National Geographic Traveler Award 2014 in the “Best Russian Airline” category, the carrier’s press-service reports.
“The world’s most read travel magazine National Geographic Traveler summarized results of the online voting carried out among Russian readers. From July 2014 to November 2014 visitors of the magazine’s website were voting for the best tourist destinations and services in 16 different categories. Voting is carried out annually since 2011. Following the results of the survey Aeroflot was named the best Russian airline. 43.23% of 230 thousand respondents voted for the carrier,” Aeroflot explained.
The Russian national carrier won users’ sympathies thanks to the continuous improvement of the quality of service and implementation of new technologies in the area of onboard and ground services.
Aeroflot consistently holds leading position among European carriers in terms of quality of service. According to the respected industry experts the company is ranked first in Europe in terms of service quality both in business and economy classes. In 2014 for the second straight year and for the third time in its history Aeroflot won the prestigious international SKYTRAX World Airline Award in the “Best Airline in Eastern Europe” category. FlightStats agency named the carrier the world’s most punctual airline in May 2014. Experts also recognized the high quality of in-flight meals offered by the airline. The carrier is actively implementing Wi-Fi Onboard program – at present this service is available onboard 30 long-haul aircraft, the airline noted.
