Passenger traffic of Russian airlines for 10 months of 2014 was over 80,48 million passengers

Federal Air Transport Agency unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines for the period from January to October 2014. 

According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 207 322 685,21 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+8.2% year-on-year). The cargo turnover was 4 179 004,91 thousand ton-kilometers (+1.5%). During the accounting period (January-October 2014) Russian carriers have transported 80 487 752 passengers (+11.2% year-on-year). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 843 075,1 tons (+3.1%). The passenger load factor was 80.9% and the commercial load factor was 67.6%.

As for the October statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 7 572 021 passengers (+6%) and 99 809,99 tons of cargo and mail (+14%).

The top-5 carriers in terms of passenger traffic in January-October 2014 are as follows: Aeroflot transported 19 901 259 passengers (+13% year-on-year), Transaero - 11 552 370 passengers (+6.1%), UTair Aviation - 7 545 857 passengers (+7.4%), Siberia - 6 801 156 passengers (+13.6%), Ural Airlines - 4 461 439 passenger (+17.9%). These five carriers have transported a total of 50 262 081 passengers (+11%) during 10 months of 2014, which is equal to 62.4% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.

The five leading airlines in terms of cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 420 038,1 tons of cargo and mail (+21.2% year-on-year), Aeroflot – 116 293 tons of cargo and mail (-21.1%), Transaero - 56 501,9 tons of cargo and mail (+3.1%), Volga-Dnepr – 34450,4 tons of cargo and mail (-22.9%), Siberia - 30 479 tons of cargo and mail (+3.8%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 657 762,4 tons of cargo and mail (+5.6%) during 10 months of 2014, which is equal to 78% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
