Transaero Airlines has successfully passed IATA Operational Safety Audit (IATA stands for International Air Transport Association). The carrier’s operational safety meets all the requirements of the latest ENHANCED IOSA standards, which will come into effect in 2015, Transaero’s press-service reports.

Next year the requirements of IOSA will become stricter and some recommendations will be turned into standards. ENHANCED IOSA obliges the air carriers to maintain the level of safety meeting the IATA requirements by means of carrying out internal audits on the basis of comprehensive programs, the press-service explained. “The operational safety provided by Transaero Airlines already meets all the future requirements. This was made possible thanks to constant improvement of quality management system and flight safety management system”.

A team of international auditors noted that despite rapid growth of passenger traffic and expansion of the carrier’s fleet the company managed not only to maintain, but also improve the level of its standards. During the audit the company’s management system, security policy, quality management system, flight safety management system and personnel training were evaluated.

«In order to meet the new standards the organization must make significant changes including implementation of new standards and practices. Transaero started implementation of the audit system in 2012, that is why the company decided to pass the audit this year in compliance with the stricter standards,» head of Transaero Flight Safety and Quality Department, Pavel Goncharuk, said.

IOSA is the most advanced standard in the area of air transportation and flight safety. Its requirements are constantly updated in accordance with the latest changes in the global aviation industry. Internationally recognized level of flight safety confirms the airline’s good reputation at domestic and global market. Today IOSA standard includes around 900 requirements, which must be met by a carrier during audit.
