Irkut Corporation delivered Yak-130 and Su-30 aircraft to Russian Ministry of Defense

On November 14th Irkut Corporation handed over 3 Yak-130 operational trainers and one Su-30 multi-role fighter manufactured under the State Defense Order to the representatives of Russian Ministry of Defense at Irkutsk Aviation Plant. Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, took part in the handover ceremony, press-service of the ministry reports.

The corporation started deliveries of Yak-130 and Su-30SM aircraft to Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) and foreign customers in 2011. A total of 40 aircraft should be delivered this year. In 2015 Irkut will continue deliveries of these jets to the MoD and foreign countries.

«Irkut Corporation is increasing the Yak-130 output. Today we handed over three Yak-130 jets and one Su-30 to Russian Ministry of Defense, - Denis Manturov said in the network of his visit to Irkutsk Aviation Plant. – We must continue deliveries carried out under the State Defense Order and implement our export contracts».

Yak-130 is the first brand-new (not an upgraded version of a previously operated aircraft) jet developed in Russia. Russian air forces need around 250 jets of the type. Taking into account the fact that Yak-130 is the operational trainer used to train Su-30MK pilots, the market capacity for this vehicle reaches 2500 ones. Yak-130 will replace the fleet of outdated L-39 aircraft operated by Russian air forces.
