In 2014 Almaz Antey signed contracts worth $60 million despite sanctions

In 2014 Almaz Antey Concern (Russia) signed contracts for aftersales support of air defense systems worth around $500 million and increased its revenues from deliveries of the products by $60 million. It was stated by the Almaz Antey Deputy Director General on Foreign Economic Activity, Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, Gazeta.ru reports.

«At present we are working on 33 draft contracts. The geography has been expanded: 13 countries are interested in our services,» he said at Airshow China — 2014.

According to him, sanctions do not affect the company’s activities. «We believe that our company would be able to reach its goals no matter the limits set by our so-called “friends,” Dzirkaln said.

Today we are implementing 26 contracts worth around $300 million; we are working with 9 countries.

Moreover, Dzirkaln noted that Chinese analogues of Russian air defense systems may be competitive in terms of price, but not in terms of performance.
