Tactical Missiles Corporation (also known as TRV) is completing the state testing of Kh-58UShK missile (installed inside the fuselage) intended for Russian fifth-generation fighter PAK FA, Voenno-promishlenniy Courier reports.
It was stated by the CEO of TRV, Boris Obnosov, at Airshow China 2014. «This is the latest product having nothing in common with the old Kh-58 missile except for its designation: it is two times shorter compared to Kh-58 and it has a completely different seeker. We are completing the state testing of this missile. During the state testing missiles will be launched from T-50 prototypes,» he said.
According to the CEO, PAK FA “will be the only Russian platform fitted with anti-radar missile installed inside the fuselage”. However, it may also be installed on the wing stations, Obnosov noted.
At the same time the corporation continues development of Kh-74M2 missile – another new missile intended for “Tier 1 T-50 fighters”, he said. «PAK FA will be fitted with brand-new weapons, - CEO of TRV noted. – We are showcasing only our new missiles here, but not all of them».
