Russia sees opportunities for deliveries of MS-21 passenger aircraft developed by Irkut Corporation to China. It was stated by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, Yuri Slusar, at Airshow China-2014, RIA Novosti reports.

“We hope that after certification of MS-21 aircraft the jet will find its customers in China, he said. — It looks like a very promising aircraft in terms of economics and ergonomics, so carriers (including Chinese ones) may be interested”.

“China has its own aircraft of the type - С-919. However, this project has another schedule. That is why we hope that upon completion of certification testing MS-21 will find its customers in China as in the case with Sukhoi SuperJet 100”.

“We have considered routes and calculated different business cases so we think that MS-21 may compete with Airbus and Boeing aircraft. That is why we hope to start deliveries of these jets to China,” Slusar said.
