Kuznetsov Company successfully completed the bench testing of the test engine for PAK DA

Kuznetsov Company (part of United Engine Corporation and Rostec State Corporation) has successfully completed the bench testing of engine prototype intended for PAK DA next-generation bomber. The engine will be used in order to obtain parameters meeting the requirements of performance specification, the company’s press-service reports.

Development of the engine for PAK DA is one of the UEC’s core projects. So far the stages of this project have been defined and the completion date has been set. Maiden flight of PAK DA bomber is scheduled for 2019.

"In the network of the project for development of the engine for PAK DA specialists of Kuznetsov Company reconstructed the test bench required to test engines of this class: construction and installation works were completed as well as engineering activities, a brand new measuring system was connected to the test bench, equipment installed in the control room was upgraded. After that the test engine was assembled and installed on the test bench", - said in the statement.

During testing the engine demonstrated solid performance and its parameters were close to the claimed ones. At present research and development work is underway.

«The first successful run of the test engine is an important milestone for the company and its employees, because it represents successful implementation of developed technologies and solutions» – Chief Operating Officer of Kuznetsov Company, Nikolay Yakushin, said.
