The solemn Aristos-2014 award ceremony was held in Moscow. This annual award is presented to outstanding representatives of the Russian business community, whose professional reputation was highly appreciated by the members of the Award Academy. Aristos award nominees are selected from the “Top 1,000 leading managers of Russia” list. CEO of Transaero Airlines Olga Pleshakova received Aristos Award in Best Top Executive category, the carrier’s press-service reports.
During her speech delivered at the ceremony, Olga Pleshakova stressed that she is considering this award as the appreciation of the work of Transaero Airlines’ 12,000 high-skilled employees. The airline founded 23 years ago achieved significant milestones and its results are highly regarded in Russia and other countries of the world, Transaero noted.
“Transaero, the Russia’s largest private carrier is one of the 10 largest airlines in Europe and the 35 largest airlines in the world. Transaero operates the largest fleet of wide-body aircraft in Russia, CIS Region and Eastern Europe. During the first nine months of 2014, the passenger traffic of Transaero was about 10.5 million passengers. The domestic passenger traffic increased by 35% - it is the highest indicator among the Russia’s five largest carriers. Transaero is also ranked 1st among the five largest Russian airlines in terms of passenger load factor (84.8%). 2014 is the record-setting year for the airline in terms of the expansion of its route network (over 200 routes in Russia, Europe, Asia, America and Africa). In the 2014/2015 winter schedule Transaero has opened 15 new routes. Special attention is paid to development of transportation in the Far East region, including flights operated under the state program for subsidizing flights for certain passenger categories; the carrier is also focused on increasing the passenger traffic on flights to southern resorts of the Russian Federation”, - the carrier’s press-service noted.
Transaero is the only Russian airline to offer its clients six classes of service, including unique Imperial (first) class as well as a popular low-cost service Discount class. It was the first carrier in Russia to offer its passengers high-speed broadband in-flight Internet access and mobile services. Currently the in-flight connectivity services are available on 31 aircraft. Transaero achieved strong financial results by means of implementing the development strategy approved in 2013 - “Rational growth, focus and efficiency”. According to the company’s IFRS financial statement for the first six months of 2014, the airline’s net profit was over 700 million rubles; EBITDA and EBITDAR margins have increased dramatically. Transaero’s indicators in the area of operating and net profit are the best ones among Russian carriers presenting IFRS financial statements. .
The Aristos-2014 award ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovish, Russian business ombudsman and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Managers Boris Titov, President of the Association of Managers Vladimir Senin, the founder of the Association of Managers and a member of its Board of Directors Dmitry Zelenin, the representatives of the State Duma and the Moscow City Duma, representatives of different ministries, agencies and Russian business community.
