S7 Airlines, member of oneworld global alliance, will implement new baggage allowance rules on October 26th 2014, the carrier’s press-service reports.

“The Piece Concept system will be introduced in the network of winter schedule. The largest foreign airlines, including members of oneworld alliance, are already using this system. The same standards will apply for all flight sectors making it easier for passengers to travel on flights of different alliance members,” S7 noted.

Now the number of pieces of luggage allowed for free transportation (1PC/2PC) would be specified in the itinerary receipt. On S7 flights economy class passengers will be able to carry 1 piece of luggage (suitcase/ bag/ box) with weight of 23 kg or less. In addition the sum of three dimensions of the piece must not exceed 203 cm. For children under two years of age travelling without a seat the free baggage allowance is as follows: 1 piece with weight of 10 kg or less, the sum of the three dimensions - up to 203 cm. Economy class passengers will be able to take one piece of hand luggage onboard the aircraft with weight of 7 kg, the sum of the three dimensions – up to 115 cm, business class passengers can take two pieces with the same parameters. If the total weight of a passenger’s luggage does not exceed 10 kg, restrictions on the number of pieces do not apply.
