In the network of visit of Russian Minister of Industry and Trade to Jakarta he told the journalists about possible deliveries of SSJ-100 aircraft to the country. Russian party is looking for an Indonesian partner able to support the delivery of up to 15 jets of the type to Indonesia in the near-term, the ministry’s press-service reports.
“In August 2011 a contract for delivery of 12 SSJ-100 liners to PT Sky Aviation (Indonesia) was signed at MAKS-2011 airshow. The deal was valued at $380,4 million. In the network of this contract Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) delivered three aircraft of the type to Indonesia: the first one – in February, second one – in August, third one – in December. At the same time Indonesian pilots and maintenance personnel have undergone training at SCAC training center. Thus in 2011-2013 Russian party fulfilled all the contract terms and met the delivery schedule. Meanwhile, in 2013 the Indonesian partner PT Sky Aviation experienced financial difficulties and later suspended flights. The carrier has pending debts connected with leasing payments, payments for fuel and insurance”, - the ministry added.
At present the legal basis for expropriation of the carrier’s aircraft has been elaborated. As an alternative to cooperation with Sky Aviation, SCAC together with Trade Representation of Russian Ministry of Economic Development in Jakarta are looking for carriers having a stable financial situation and able to put SSJ 100 liners already delivered to Indonesia into operation.
«We see that other Indonesian companies are interested in acquisition of these aircraft under an operating or financial lease agreement. Soon we will make a decision on handover of the jets already delivered to Indonesia and we also plan to sign contracts for delivery of up to 15 liners of the type to the country over the next three years, - Denis Manturov noted. – There are some possibilities. We will keep developing relations and forming new contracts with new partners».
