On October 13th 2014 in the network of official visit of Chinese delegation to Russia during a meeting between Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Li Keqiang, and Chairman of the Russian government, Dmitry Medvedev, State Transport Leasing Company (STLC also known as GTLK) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) signed an agreement for financing the purchase of three new Boeing 777-300ER by Aeroflot. The document was signed by the Chairman of the Board of ICBC, Jiang Jianqing, and CEO of STLC, Sergey Khramagin, press-service of STLC reports.
"The aircraft will be delivered to Russia in the first half of 2015 and then they will be handed over to Aeroflot – Russian Airlines under a lease agreement. The agreement between STLC and ICBC Financial Leasing Co. Ltd. confirmed their commitment to continue cooperation in the area of commercial aviation. Earlier in the network of partnership with ICBCL the subsidiary of STLC - GTLK Europe Ltd. – leased five Airbus A321 aircraft to Aeroflot", - STLC added.
ICBC Financial Leasing Co. Ltd. is the subsidiary of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China – the country’s largest financial institution. ICBC, founded in 1984, is a member of “Big four” (four largest banks of China). In 2014 ICBC was ranked first in the Global 2000 rating (list of the largest public companies) made by Forbes for the second straight year. ICBC was ranked fifth in the rating of the world’s largest companies (in terms of market capitalization) made by Bloomberg.
