The final batch of two multi-role Su-30MK2 fighters has been delivered from Russia to the Sultan Hasanuddin air base located on the Sulawesi Island (Indonesia), ITAR-TASS reports with reference to Djakarta Post.
It was reported by the representative of the air base, Major Mulyadi. According to him, the non-assembled fighters have been delivered by An-124 aircraft along with 13 engineers, which will assemble the jets. After completion of the assembly the flight testing will be started and then Su-30MK2s will be handed over to Indonesian air forces.
The first two jets have been delivered to Indonesia in February 2013 in accordance with the contract signed in 2011. Another two fighters have been delivered to the customer in May. This delivery is the last one in the network of this contract. The jets will be operated by 11th squadron of Indonesian air forces.
