Aeroflot – Russian airlines has finalized the results of July and 7 months of 2013. The carrier’s passenger traffic was 2,1044 million passengers in July 2013 (+17.4% as compared to the same period of 2012), the carrier’s press-service reports.
The passenger traffic on international airlines was 1,2299 million passengers (+10.8% or 120,1 thousand passengers as compared to July 2012). The passenger traffic on domestic airlines was 874.5 thousand passengers (+28% or 191,5 thousand passengers).
“The increase of passenger traffic during the period from July 2012 to July 2013 is connected with increase of flight frequency on some routes and opening of new ones. The flight frequency was significantly increased on the following destinations: Milan, Rome, Athens, Belgrade, Donetsk, Kiev, Odessa, Istanbul; domestic ones – Kaliningrad, Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk, Ufa, Vladivostok, Surgut. Regular flights to the following cities have been launched: Bologna, Thessaloniki, Toronto, Abakan, Magnitogorsk, Novokuznetsk and Yakutsk. The passenger load factor in July 2013 was 83.7%”, - the airline noted.
In order to assure the implementation of the airline’s development strategy the following aircraft have been put into operation over the period from July 2012 to July 2013: 8 Airbus A320s; 5 Airbus A330s; 4 Boeing 777s, one Airbus A321 and 2 SSJ 100s, the carrier noted.
Aeroflot’s passenger turnover was 5,9155 billion passenger-kilometers in July 2013 (+17.2% as compared to July 2012). The passenger turnover on international airlines was 3,8754 billion passenger-kilometers (+11.8%). The passenger turnover on domestic airlines was 2,0401 billion passenger-kilometers (+29.1%).
The carrier’s cargo traffic was 17,947 thousand tons (+11.1% as compared to October 2011).
Aeroflot has transported 11,6461 million passengers during 7 months of 2013. The passenger load factor was 78.2%; 33,6899 billion passenger-kilometers have been performed. The scope of work has increased as compared to the same period of 2012: +19.7% by passenger traffic (+1,9148 million passengers); + 21.8% by passenger turnover (+6,0247 billion passenger-kilometers); the passenger load factor increased by 1.7%”, - the airline’s press-service explained.
