The specialists in the area of UAV operation will be trained in Voronezh

The first intake of cadets that will be trained for operating and servicing UAVs has been completed by Voronezh-based Air Force Academy. The first UAVs will be delivered to the academy in 2013 in order to start the hands-on training of the cadets, press-service of the Western Military District reports.

"Over 60 cadets will be trained in accordance with a 5-year program comprising 4 specialties in the area of UAV operation and maintenance. The personnel will be trained in Voronezh and Chelyabinsk branch of the academy", - the press-service noted.

Orlan-10 UAV will be delivered to the academy in 2013. It is intended for monitoring objects located in hard-to-reach regions and carrying out search-and-rescue operations. Forpost UAV will be delivered to the academy in early 2014. This UAV is used for air reconnaissance. More vehicles will be delivered to the institution in future.

At present the first-year cadets are undergoing the basic military training. The ritual of oath taking will be held at the main square of Voronezh on September 7th. Over 1000 first-year cadets of the academy will take the oath in 2013, the press-service noted.
