Soyuz TMA-10M docked with ISS

Soyuz TMA-10M manned transport spaceship docked with International Space Station (ISS) on September 26th 2013  (6.45 Moscow time), press-service of Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) reports. 

The spaceship docked with Poisk research module of ISS (MIM-2). The rendezvous procedure has been performed in automatic mode under control of specialists from Mission Control Center of TSNIIMASH, crew of Soyuz TMA-10M: commander Oleg Kotov (Roscosmos), onboard engineers Sergey Ryazanski (Roscosmos) and Michael Hopkins (NASA); and the Russian member of ISS crew Fedor Yurchikhin.

After the opening of transfer hatches the number of the main mission at ISS changed to 37/38. About 35 experiments will be carried out in 4 main areas: “Man in Space. Space biotechnology” – 13 ones, “Engineering research and experiments” – 11, “Earth and space exploration” – 8, “Education and popularization of Space exploration” – 3; - Roscosmos said.

Soyuz-FG launch vehicle with Soyuz TMA-10M spaceship was launched from Baikonur cosmodrome at 00:58 Moscow time.

The spaceship separated from the third stage normally on the artificial satellite orbit at 01:07 Moscow time. According to Roscosmos, “four-orbit rendezvous procedure (the crew of Soyuz TMA-08M were the first ones to use this procedure on March 29th2013) was used during placing the spaceship into orbit and docking process”.
