Russian Ministry of Defense placed an pre-order for UAV developed by Moscow Aviation Institute

Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) placed an pre-order for UAV developed by Moscow Aviation Institute demonstrated at “Innovation day of Russian Ministry of Defense” held in Moscow, ITAR-TASS reports.

"Let’s test it. If it demonstrates the claimed performance, we will purchase it", - Deputy Minister of Defense, Yuri Mikhailov, said during demonstration of Voron-333 UCAV to the delegation of the MoD.

According to the manufacturer, the UCAV has an endurance of 2 hours and capable of carrying 12 kg of payload; its range is 10 km. It may be fitted with a machine gun, grenade launcher, gas analyzer, infrared imager and other special-purpose equipment.

The UCAV is also fitted with a flight controller, GLONASS and GPS navigation systems. It has a special mode for manual override of flight path, automatic return to the point of launching in case of radio channel malfunction and a self-destruction mode.
