Russian Technologies State Corporation may sign an agreement of intent with Bombardier at MAKS-2013 airshow. The agreement assumes launching the assembly of Q400 aircraft in Russia, Vedomosti reports with reference to sources close to the parties.
In case of a positive result of the negotiations the assembly will be carried out in Ulyanovsk. Samara-based Aviacor may also take part in the project.
CEO of Russian Technologies State Corporation (Rostech), Sergey Chemezov, offeredBombardier to launch the assembly of its aircraft in Russia in February 2013. Rostech wanted to establish a joint venture on a parity basis. The corporation was ready to invest around $100 million in the project. The potential production site will be located in Ulyanovsk special economic zone. However, it was reported this summer that the talks have come to a standstill. «The aircraft needs market demand», — a source close to Bombardier noted.
The sources are not sure that the parties will be able to reach the agreement at all. «Wehave not made any arrangements yet. It is by no means certain that the agreement will be signed at MAKS 2013», — a source said.
