Russian specialists will train the maintenance personnel in Afghanistan

Russian helicopter manufacturers will provide aftersales support for the Mi-17V-5 helicopters delivered to Afghanistan in accordance with a contract with US Ministry of Defense and carry out training of Afghan maintenance personnel, Interfax reports with reference to the CEO of Rosoboronexport, Anatoly Isaykin.

"A group of Russian specialists departed to ISAF base in Kabul in order to implement the aftersales commitment. Afghan specialists will be carrying out maintenance of the helicopters after passing the necessary training", - he said.

According to him, “Afghan specialists will be able to complete the training prior to completion of the deliveries".
