The first two Mi-28N helicopters were delivered to the base airfield of Western Military District (WMD) located in Pskov Region on August 9th 2013, the press-service ofWestern Military District reports. 

«The specialists of WMD have completed the flight testing of two Mi-28Ns and accepted the vehicles into service. Assimilation of the new helicopters will be completed in late August 2013», - WMD’s press-service noted. 

These are the first helicopters of the army aviation to be deployed at the military airfield in Pskov Region. Mi-28N helicopters previously delivered to the WMD were ferried to Torzhok training center and used for retraining of pilots and maintenance personnel.  

A total of 10 new helicopters of different types were delivered to the WMD in 2013. WMD should take delivery of 70 more aircraft this year, including Mi-28N, Mi-35, Mi-26, Ka-52 helicopters and Su-34, MiG-31BM jets, WMD explained.
