KAPO-Composite, the enterprise intended for production of aircraft parts made of composites, was opened in Kazan, Prime reports.
The total investments in establishment of this plant were over 3,5 billion rubles. "KAPO-Composite" will be manufacturing high-lift devices and tail assembly for Sukhoi SuperJet 100 and MS-21 aircraft. Serial production of parts for SSJ 100 jets should be launched in late 2013, for MS-21 - in 2015.
"We plan to reach the production value of 1 billion rubles per year over the next two years. The planned production value is 3 billion rubles per year. The growth rate of the plant’s output will be increasing" – Mikhail Pogosyan, President of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), said at the opening ceremony.
He noted that the production of parts for Boeing and Airbus aircraft will be launched in 2014 in cooperation with FACC AG (Austria). The Austrian company intends to have a 24% stake in KAPO-Composite’s registered capital by the end of 2014.
"Our partnership with FACC AG helps us implement not only specific production programs but also work on increasing our product’s competitiveness", - the president of UAC said.
KAPO-Composite is the first enterprise opened in the network of UAC’s program for establishment of competence centers. According to Mikhail Pogosyan, "the program assumes creation of new enterprises for manufacturing composite wings, doors and access doors in Ulyanovsk, engine nacelles in Voronezh and creation of a design center in Moscow".
