Yakutia Airlines took delivery of the third Bombardier Q400 aircraft (registration number VP-BOS). The turboprop arrived in Yakutsk on July 3rd 2013, the carrier’s press-service reports.
«Thus the contract for delivery of three aircraft of the type signed by Yakutia Airlines and Bombardier has been implemented. The first Bombardier Q400 was delivered to Yakutia Airlines in February 2013. The airline became the first Russian operator of the aircraft type», - the press-service noted.
The new aircraft delivered to the carrier in the network of State program “Development of transport system of Sakha Republic for 2012-2016» will be based in Yakutsk. The turboprop will be performing short-haul and regional flights. According to the schedule, the aircraft should have performed its first revenue flight from Yakutsk to Tiksi on July 3rd 2013.
«The turboprop’s cabin is fitted with 72 seats. The aircraft has a distinctive livery: the airframe is painted blue with a white title “Yakutia” on the board», - the airline explained.
In addition, Yakutia took delivery of Boeing 737-700 jet. At present the fleet of Yakutia Airlines comprises 8 Boeing 737 Family aircraft (5 Boeing 737-700s and 3 Boeing 737-800s). The first Boeing 737-700 was delivered to the carrier in July 2009, said in the statement.
The new Boeing 737-700 (registration number VP-BSP) will be based in Pashkovsky airport (Krasnodar). The carrier performs domestic and international flights from the airport. The jet features a two-class cabin layout seating 132 passengers: 8 seats in business class and 124 seats in economy class.
The fleet of Yakutia Airlines comprises the following aircraft types: Boeing 757-200, Boeing 757-200F, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-800, SSJ 100, Bombardier Q400 and An-140. «The acquisition of advanced and efficient aircraft in the network of a fleet renewal program helps Yakutia expand its route network and offer new services to its passengers», - the carrier noted.
