Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines in the first half of 2013.
According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 101 979 565,73thousand passenger-kilometers, (+20,3% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 2 447 729,39thousand ton-kilometers (+0,8%).
During the accounting period (January-June 2013) Russian carriers have transported 37 395 275 passengers (+17.1% as compared to the same period of 2012). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 477 136,43 tons (+1.9%). The passenger load factor was 77.9% and the commercial load factor was 65%.
As for the June statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 8 524 189 passengers (+14.6%) and 83 876,54 tons of cargo and mail (+12.1%).
The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic in January-June 2013 are as follows: Aeroflot has transported 9 541 639 passengers (+20,2% as compared to the same period of 2012), Transaero - 5 491 042 passengers(+26.4%), UTair Aviation - 3 823 182 passengers (+7.1%), Siberia - 3 177 775 passengers (+17%), Rossiya - 1 929 647 passenger (+3.9%). These five carriers have transported a total of 23 963 285 passengers (+17.3%) during 6 months, which is equal to 64.1% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 196 162,2 tons of cargo and mail (+13.1% compared to the same period of 2012), Aeroflot – 91 448,83 tons of cargo and mail (+0.2%), Volga-Dnepr - 29 162,59 tons of cargo and mail (-17.2%), Transaero – 29 000,75 tons of cargo and mail (+5.9%), Siberia – 16 766 tons of cargo and mail (-0.6%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 362 540,37 tons of cargo and mail (+5.4%) during 6 months, which is equal to 76% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
