Transstroy development and construction company, part of Basic Element group founded by Oleg Deripaska, is developing the concept of the fourth Moscow airport in cooperation with Egis group (France), Business-TASS reports.
At present the project is called “Aeroport-Siti” (stands for Airport-City). According to Transstroy the investments in pre-project work will be about €1 billion, Deputy Director General of the company, Pavel Trubanov, said.
"We are studying route networks in order to estimate the feasibility of such project using mathematical simulation and then try to define its possible location. We have no orders for this work – it’s our initiative and we are going to present it to the government in future", - he noted.
According to Pavel Trubanov, the preliminary plans assume construction of “airport-city” in Moscow Region. First of all, it will be the full-service airport with its own infrastructure, refueling facilities, etc. On the other hand it will become an independent urban center with its own social infrastructure. At that the airport is supposed to have a specialty: it will be servicing all the transit flights in order to reduce the load upon the existing airports.
Transstroy may invite the airport’s future operators to take part in the project as co-investors. "Of course we will guarantee loyalty to them in this case", - he explained.
