Passenger traffic of Russian airlines was over 28,87 million passengers during 5 months of 2013

Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines in January-May 2013. 
 
According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 80 190 948,39  thousandpassenger-kilometers, (+21,7% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 2 028 227,76 thousand ton-kilometers (+0,1%).
 
During the accounting period (January-May 2013) Russian carriers have transported 28 871 091 passengers (+17.8% as compared to the same period of 2012). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 393 263,53 tons (the same figure was reached during the first five months of 2012). The passenger load factor was 77% and the commercial load factor was 64.3%.

As for the May statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 7 196 717 passengers (+19.7%) and 80 866,49 tons of cargo and mail (-2.2%).
 
The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic in January-May 2013 are as follows: Aeroflot has transported 7 618 747 passengers (+20,3% as compared to the same period of 2012), Transaero - 4 115 241 passengers (+27%), UTair Aviation - 3 001 893passengers (+5.7%), Siberia - 2 536 048 passengers (+21.1%), Ural Airlines - 1 407 573 passenger (+23.8%). These five carriers have transported a total of 18 679 502 passengers (+19.4%) during 5 months, which is equal to 64.7% of the totalpassenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
 
The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 159 799,50 tons of cargo and mail (+9.1% compared to the same period of 2012), Aeroflot – 75 280,29 tons of cargo and mail (-1%), Volga-Dnepr - 24 683,62  tons of cargo and mail (-18.8%), Transaero – 23 653,76 tons of cargo and mail (+7.2%), Siberia – 13 886,00 tons of cargo and mail (+1.2%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 297 303,17 tons of cargo and mail (+3%) during 5 months, which is equal to 75.6% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
