Transaero took delivery of its second cargo aircraft. Tu-204-100С aircraft was delivered to the carrier after the completion of acceptance held at Aviastar-SP (Ulyanovsk, Russia). The jet was delivered to the airline in the network of the contract for long-term leasing of twoTu-204-100Сs signed by Transaero and Ilyushin Finance & Co leasing company, the carrier’s press-service reports.
Transaero took delivery of its first Tu-204-100C cargo aircraft in April 2013.
“Transaero intends to develop the segment of cargo transportation and the acquisition of Tu-204-100C aircraft underlines the carrier’s commitment to supporting Russian aircraft industry. Transaero will operate the jets on domestic and international routes”, - the carrier noted.
Transaero is one of the Russia’s largest cargo carriers. According to the Transport Clearing House, Transaero comes in first by the cargo turnover on domestic airlines in January-April 2013 (76 138,8 ton-kilometers).
At present the fleet of Transaero comprises 99 aircraft: 24 Boeing 747s, 14 Boeing 777s, 15 Boeing 767s, 41 Boeing 737s, 3 Tu-214s and 2 Tu-204-100Cs.
