Russian Ministry of Defense is considering two variants for replacement of An-26 military-transport aircraft

Russian Ministry of Defense is considering two variants for replacement of outdated An-26 military-transport aircraft, Lenta.rureports. It was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, Yuri Borisov.

According to him, this refers to development of an aircraft derived from An-140 and development of Il-112V military-transport aircraft. The latter one is being developed by Ilyushin Company, while the production of Il-112V may be launched at Voronezh Aircraft Production Association (VASO).

The final decision on this matter has not been taken yet. According to Yuri Borisov, the Ministry of Defense is carrying out thorough analysis at the moment.
