Russian air forces have completed the first stage of testing of fifth-generation T-50 (PAK FA) fighter, Channel One reports.

«We planned to reach a certain level and I believe that we have successfully solved this problem in the network of the first stage. Some parameters appeared to be even higher than expected. For example, we have obtained outstanding characteristics in the area of supersonic cruise and super-maneuverability», - the First Deputy Director General of Project and Research Scientific Center of Sukhoi Design Bureau, Mikhail Strelets, said.

PAK FA performed over 500 flights over the last few years in the network of its secret testing. "Now we have an opportunity to respond to all the potential threats constituted by our potential enemies. Nowadays different countries of the world are developing fifth-generation aircraft. Our fighter will outmatch its foreign rivals. This fact gives us confidence in the future", - President of United Aircraft Corporation, Mikhail Pogosyan, stated.

Four prototypes have already been tested. The testing of another T-50 prototype will be completed this year. The serial production of T-50 fighters should be launched in 2015.
