The PNK-204 aircraft navigation system developed by Radioelectronic Technologies Concern (part of Russian Technologies State Corporation - Rostec) makes Tu-204SM the Russia’s most advanced aircraft, press-service of Rostec reports. 

"The cost of this system developed and manufactured by the enterprises of Radioelectronic Technologies Concern is 110 million rubles. PNK-204 integrated avionics suite allows ruling out the flight engineer from the aircraft crew and decreasing the operational costs of the carriers. Moreover, state-of-the-art technical solutions implemented during development of PNK-204 provide a number of technical and economic advantages for Tu-204SM", - the corporation explained.

Moscow Institute of Electromechanics and Automatics (MIEA, part of RETC) is acting as the developer and supplier of PNK-204. MIEA is developing and manufacturing the Flight Management System and Automatic Flight Control System. Most instruments and systems of the avionics suite are manufactured by Ulyanovsk Instrument Manufacturing Design Bureau (UIMDB). UIMDB supplies aerometry instruments, display and warning systems, backup devices, cockpit consoles, aircraft equipment control system (SUOSO-204), onboard maintenance system and lighting facilities. 

"Thanks to state-of-the-art solutions the number of replaceable units has been decreased two times; the total volume of the jet’s avionics has been decreased five times; the jet’s weight has been decreased by 300 kg. Moreover, energy consumption, labor input and maintenance costs related to the avionics suite have been decreased; the suite’s reliability was improved. At that the cost of PNK-204 is 30% lower as compared to its analogues", - Rostec reported. 

Tu-204SM is the medium-haul aircraft with improved navigation and aircraft performance. Its range is 4800 km (with 194passengers onboard). As compared to Tu-204-100 this jet is equipped with 20 new aircraft systems and devices manufactured by the RETC. The new commercial aircraft received type certificate from Interstate Aviation Committee in June. This certification allows operation of the jet in accordance with European and US aviation regulations.
