The exercise flights of Su-35 fighter are being performed in Zhukovsky (Moscow Region) at the airfield of Gromov Flight Research Institute in the network of preparation for Le Bourget – 2013 airshow, Sukhoi Holding Company Reports.
"The pilot of Sukhoi Holding Company, the Honored test pilot of Russian Federation, Hero of Russia, Sergey Bogdan, is drilling two sets of aerobatic maneuvers (intended for visual meteorological conditions and adverse weather conditions). The exhibitors and guests of one of the world’s largest airshows will have the opportunity to see the following stunts: barrel-roll, flat spin,Pougachev’s cobra, etc.", - the company’s press-service reports.
After completion of exercise flights the jet will be ferried to France and the training will be continued there.
The advanced multi-role Su-35 fighter will be presented at the foreign airshow for the first time ever. The fighter performed its first demonstration flight at MAKS-2009 air show. The multi-role Su-35 4++-generation fighter is derived from Su-27. The fifth-generation technologies have been used during development of the fighter granting its superiority over other fighters of this class. The jet outmatches all the 4 and 4+-generation European fighters like Rafale and Eurofighter 2000, upgraded US fighters like F-15, F-16 and F-18. Su-35S is also able to react against fifth-generation fighters F-35 and F-22A. This jet has the highest flight speed in its class (2400 km/h at the altitude of 11 km). It also outmatches Rafale (France) and Gripen (Sweden) fighters by thrust/weight ratio and range (3600 km without external tanks). Gripen NG is powered by one engine and so the aircraft has lower tolerance to battle damage and reliability. US F/А-18 fighter has lower altitude capability as compared to Su-35S.
