New Il-96 aircraft will be delivered to Rossiya special aircraft division over the next few years

New Il-96 aircraft will be delivered to Rossiya special aircraft division over the next few years, bloggers report. This information was posted to the BMPD blog (unofficial and informal blog published under the aegis of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST)), Vzglyad reports.

«Russia’s most expensive airline» keeps on expanding its fleet. User alexeyvvo reports that two new contracts for delivery of aircraft intended for Rossiya special aircraft division were added to the Registry of State Contracts.

According to the bloggers, the contracts were signed by the United Aircraft Corporation on April 25th 2013. No tender was issued. It is specified in the documentation that the contracts were signed in accordance with the President’s instruction №73-rp signed on February 25th 2012.

Rossiya special aircraft division will take delivery of two new Il-96-300 aircraft by the end of 2015. Thus the number of Il-96 aircraft in its fleet will reach 10 ones.

Possibly the jets will receive tail numbers 96022 and 96023. The first one – Il-96-300 “Salon” will cost 3,75 billion rubles and the second one - Il-96-300-PU (M1) - 5,2 billion rubles.

Funds for construction of these jets will be allocated in the network of Federal Targeted Investment Program.

Besides these two Il-96s, Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter equipped with communication center was also added to the program. The delivery of this helicopter is scheduled for 2015. Its cost is 413 million rubles.
