Sheremetyevo international airport serviced 5.791 million passengers in the first quarter of 2013, the airport’s press-service reports. 

The passenger traffic on international airlines increased by 11% to 3 683 000 passengers during the period from January to March, as for domestic airlines – by 12% to 2 107 000 passengers.

The airport serviced 2.124 million passengers in March 2013 (+15% as compared to the same period of last year). At that the passenger traffic in international airlines increased by 16.3% to 1 358 000 passengers, as for domestic airlines – by 12.2% to 766 000 passengers

The most popular international destinations during the period from January to March were Paris, Sharm el-Sheikh, Prague, Hurghada, New York, Bangkok and Beijing; and the federal ones were – St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and Rostov-on-Don. 

The airport provided implementation of 53 534 takeoffs and landings in the first quarter of 2013 (+4.2% as compared to the first quarter of last year). The number of takeoffs and landings in March increased by 5.2% to 18816 ones.
