Institute of Aircraft Equipment (NIIAO), part of Radioelectronic Technologies Concern and Russian Technologies State Corporation, has completed the testing of Neptun-ME cosmonaut panel №204 using Soyuz-TMA spacecraft №709, press-service of Russian Technologies reports.
"Neptun-ME cosmonaut panel developed by NIIAO is intended for monitoring and operational control of onboard systems of manned spacecraft. Its development was started simultaneously with the development of control system intended for the first Soyuz-TMA spacecraft. Neptun-ME is fitted with three processors and two active-matrix LCD displays. The manned Soyuz-TMA spacecraft number №709, equipped with the panel should be launched on May 29th 2013", - Russian Technologies explained.
«Neptun-ME is the state-of-the-art upgraded version of Neptun information system developed in 1999. It is intended for Soyuz-TMA spacecraft with an extended range of the crew’s anthropometric measurements. NIIAO is the only Russian supplier of such hi-tech systems», – CEO of NIIAO, Vyacheslav Chernyshov said.
Besides, Neptun-ME, NIIAO has also upgraded its simulators. For example, free-motion decent simulator CF-18 and integrated simulator TDK-7ST developed by NIIAO were used during training of crew for the Soyuz-TMA spacecraft №709.
