Aviation Registry of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) granted an application for certification of PD-14 engine submitted by Aviadvigatel, press-service of Aviadvigatel reports.
«According to the design specification for the advanced PD-14 engine the certification basis was developed by the specialists of Aviadvigatel in accordance with the existing airworthiness codes: AP-33 aircraft engine safety operation standards and the AP-34 aircraft engine emission standards. Having received IAC’s approval, Aviadvigatel started preparation for the engine's certification: the corresponding documentation reflecting the whole process of PD-14 project’s implementation is being elaborated by Aviadavigatel», - said in the press-service’s statement.
It is planned to complete the first stage of certification (receiving approval of the mock-up committee) process in the fourth quarter of 2013. The following items will be demonstrated to the IAC’s experts: the draft program of certification testing, electronic mock-up of the engine and other documents related to the project. The next stage of certification will include the factory tests, Aviadvigatel noted.
