Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines in January-April 2013.
According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 61 547 708 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+21,4% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 1 612 456,93 thousand ton-kilometers (+0,3%).
During the accounting period (January-April 2013) Russian carriers have transported 21 673 417 passengers (+17.2% as compared to the same period of 2012). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 312 487,22 tons (+0.6%). The passenger load factor was 77,2% and the commercial load factor was 64.3%.
As for the April statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 5 922 060 passengers (+15.9%) and 87 058,05 tons of cargo and mail (+1.5%).
The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic in January-April 2013 are as follows: Aeroflot has transported 5 915 917 passengers (+19,7% as compared to the same period of 2012), Transaero - 2 972 813 passengers (+23.6%), UTair Aviation - 2 267 776 passengers (+4.4%), Siberia - 2 001 875 passengers (+23.5%), Ural Airlines - 1 032 273 passenger (+23.2%). These five carriers have transported a total of14 190 654 passengers (+18.4%) during 4 months, which is equal to 65.5% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 125 736 tons of cargo and mail (+8.6% compared to the same period of 2012), Aeroflot – 59 385,6 tons of cargo and mail (-0.5%), Volga-Dnepr - 19 891,2 tons of cargo and mail (-21.8%), Transaero – 18 430tons of cargo and mail (+11.3%), Siberia – 11 123 tons of cargo and mail (+2.3%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 234 566,2 tons of cargo and mail (+2.7%) during 4 months, which is equal to 75.1% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
