Kazan-based KAPO-Composit (subsidiary of Kazan Aviation Production Association named after S.P. Gorbunov (KAPO) and Aerocomposit Company) will perform the test launch of production of components for the wing and tail assembly of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 and МS-21 aircraft in July or August, RBC reports. It was stated by the CEO of KAPO-Composit, Andrey Knyazev.
The enterprise will develop a technology for production of composite components of high-lift devices and tail assembly and test its products by the end of this year, PR manager of Aerocomposit, Vladimir Akramovsky told RBC-Tatarstan. KAPO-Composit will manufacture the first 24 serial kits for SSJ 100 in 2014 and then it will start production of kits for MS-21 aircraft in 2015.
Moreover, the enterprise intends to launch the production of components for Boeing 777, Boeing 787 and Аirbus A380 in future. FACC AG (aerospace division of Fischer Composit) will act as a customer for these components. FACC AG will acquire 40% of KAPO-Composit’s shares by the end of 2013. At present KAPO owns 96,63% of the enterprise’s shares and the rest 3,37% are owned by Aerocomposit. Republic Tatarstan will also become one of the enterprise’s shareholders.
The enterprise intends to manufacture hundreds of kits annually together with FACC AG by 2017-2018. The total amount of investments in the project is 3,5 billion rubles, however, this figure may increase, Vladimir Akramovsky said. The enterprise’s revenue should reach$150-160 million in 2015.
