Russian businessman Vasily Klyukin paid $1,5 million for the opportunity to perform a spaceflight together with the Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, Kommersant reports.

The 20th benefit event was held by amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) in Cannes. The auction was held during theevening. The potential winner of this auction was supposed to have the opportunity to perform the spaceflight organized by Virgin Galactic.

The starting price of this lot was $1,29 million and the 37-year-old Russian businessman won the auction. Vasily Klyukin lives in Monaco and his sphere of business is real estate. «I want to dare», — Klyukin said. «Now I will have to give up smoking», — he added.
