Russian Ministry of Defense successfully completed special flight tests of the upgraded Su-25SM strike-fighters. The testing was aimed at improving the jets’ combat effectiveness, Lenta.ru reports.
As reported by a source close to the military-industrial sector, the strike-fighters are now able to attack four ground targets simultaneously using guided weapons.
High efficiency of the jet’s advanced communication system and tactical EW suite Vitebsk-25 has been confirmed during testing. In particular, the EW suite is fitted with state-of-the-art digital jamming station L-370-3S and it is able not only to assess the radiation of enemy radars, but also to jam the signals in a wider band.
According to the source, the Vitebsk-25 tactical EW suite and advanced weapons have significantly improved the combat characteristics of Su-25 strike-fighter and expanded its functional area.
