The major scope of first stage of PAK FA’s state testing will be completed in 2015, ARMS-TASS reports. It was stated by the president of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Mikhail Pogosyan.
"We must complete the trial tests of PAK FA and start its trial operation in 2013. In 2014 we must start the state testing and the major scope of first stage of the jet’s state testing should be completed in 2015", - Mikhail Pogosyan said.
"In general the schedule of PAK FA program meets the requirements of the State arms program for the period until 2020", - the president of UAC said. However, he did not specify the date for putting the serial fifth-generation fighter into operation.
According to him, a total of six PAK FA prototypes are being tested at the moment. Four prototypes are taking part in flight testing, one – in the static tests and one more – in ground tests. One more prototype will join the flight testing this year. "Thus a total of five jets will be participating in flight testing", - Mikhail Pogosyan added.
He reminded that the corporation started the preliminary assessment of characteristics of PAK FA’s aircraft equipment last year and completed the testing of radar with phased antenna array, which is “very important in terms of improving the fighter’s combat effectiveness as compared to the fourth-generation aircraft”. Therefore the PAK FA’s major operational modes have been confirmed.
"We have completed the detailed design of PAK FA’s Phase 2 engine. The decision on carrying out further work will be taken on the basis of the engine’s detailed design", - president of UAC said.
