Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines in in January-February 2013.
According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 29 092 142,27 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+20% as compared to the same period of last year). The cargo turnover was 704 664,69 thousand ton-kilometers (+3,5%).
During the accounting period (January-February 2013) Russian carriers have transported 10 051 672 passengers (+16.3%). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 139 188,02 tons (+2.3%). The passenger load factor was 76,3% and the commercial load factor was 62,9%.
As for the February statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 4 763 679 passengers (+15.6%) and 68 927,04 tons of cargo and mail (-12.2%).
The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic in January-February 2013 are as follows: Aeroflot has transported 2 750 373 passengers (+18,6% as compared to the same period of 2012), Transaero - 1 402 625 passengers (+22%), UTair Aviation - 1 062 006 passengers (+4%), Siberia - 958 798 passengers (+29.5%), Ural Airlines - 464 643 passenger (+25.7%). These five carriers have transported a total of 6 638 445 passengers (+18.6%) during January and February 2013, which is equal to 66% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 54 778,4 tons of cargo and mail (+9.2% compared to January-February 2012), Aeroflot – 23 884,9 tons of cargo and mail (+0.3%), Volga-Dnepr - 11 510,8 tons of cargo and mail (+3.8%), Transaero – 8 013,3 tons of cargo and mail (+20%), Siberia – 5 040 tons of cargo and mail (+4.2%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 103 227,3 tons of cargo and mail (+6.9%) during January-February 2013, which is equal to 74.2% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
