A conference dedicated to operation of Su-34 aircraft by Russian air forces was held at Baltimor air base in Voronezh, press-service of Sukhoi Company reports.
Representatives of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Sukhoi Company, 1st Command of the Air Forces and Air Defense Forces, military units operating Su-34 aircraft and top-managers of 11 enterprises (developers and manufacturers of the jet’s components). According to the company, the primary objective of the conference was to take coordinated decisions aimed at maintaining high combat readiness and assimilation of the jet’s tactical employment.
«The problems related to flight operation of Su-34 aircraft, maintenance and maintainability, quality of the jet, warranty and post-warranty service, reliability and condition of the operated jets were discussed during the conference», - Sukhoi Company reported.
The jet has been operated by Russian air forces since 2012. About 50% of the jets have a flying time of 200-250 hours. Representatives of flying and technical engineer personnel of the air forces expressed a high opinion of the aircraft. It was confirmed during the conference that the major indicator of the jet’s reliability (time between failures) meets the claimed indicators. At that, it was noted that some new approaches to a problem of maintaining the combat readiness of Su-34 fleet specified by the command of the air forces are required during the surge period, said in the statement.
Following the results of the conference a protocol was signed. The protocol assumes taking steps in order to improve the jet’s performance, ergonomics and operating characteristics, its condition, reliability and service life.
