Rosoboronexport intends to transfer technologies for production of air defense systems and Yak-130 operational trainers, Gazeta.ru reports.
«We hope to sign a contract on delivery of Pantsir-S1 air defense systems to Brazil this year. Brazil has taken this decision after discussing the possibilities for cooperation in the area of air defense systems in late 2012 during the visit of Brazilian president to Moscow. We have been negotiating with the Brazilian party for several months and we hope that the contract will be signed in the first half of 2013», — the head of Rosoboronexport’s delegation at LAAD 2013, Sergey Ladigin, said.
This refers not only to deliveries of the systems, but also to transfer of technologies, Ladigin noted. Rosoboronexport offers different solutions: licensed production, development of new systems and establishment of expanded service network, the representative of Rosoboronexport said.
In addition, Rosoboronexport is discussing the possibility of launching production of Yak-130 operational trainers in Brazil. «We offer the advanced aircraft. And we also offer technology transfer. We are ready to take part in development of the national aircraft fitted with its own avionics, navigation system and weapons used by Brazil. We provide Brazil with the proven aircraft, but they also have a possibility to make changes in its design, upgrade the jet and launch production at Brazilian enterprises», — Ladigin said.
