HAL plans to launch the production of spare parts for Su-30MKI aircraft in India

HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd) intends to launch the production of spare parts for Su fighters in India in cooperation with national businessmen, ARMS-TASS reports with reference to Economic Times.

It was declared by the General Manager of production localization program, Punama Srivastava, during meeting with members of association of  manufacturers and businessmen of Nashik (one of HAL’s plants is located in Nashik).

The president of the association, Dkhanandzhej Bil, in his own turn, noted that the local companies will be able to manufacture a number of parts for Su-30MKI fighters operated by the Indian air forces, including the ones requiring precision machining, electrical power networks, etc. "HAL is ready to provide the local manufacturers with all the necessary technologies", - Punama Srivastava stated. "At present about 350-400 spare parts are required for overhaul of Su-30MKI. And we have to purchase the parts in Russia", - a top-manager of HAL said. "The market of spare parts for these fighters is assessed at $2 billion", - he said.
