The dates of signing a contract on delivery of Su-35 multi-role fighters to China will be specified soon in the network of visit of Chinese leaders to Russia, “Voenno-promishlenniy Kuryer” reports with reference to the vice-premier, Dmitry Rogozin.

«We are expecting the visit of new Chinese leaders in the nearest future (over the next two weeks) and then we will specify the dates», - D. Rogozin told Interfax speaking about the signing of the contract on delivery of Su-35 fighters to China.

Deputy Director of Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, reported earlier that the intergovernmental agreement on delivery of Su-35 fighters to China was signed in January 2013. According to him the elaboration of the corresponding contract will be started soon. He noted that the assembled fighters will be delivered to the customer instead of launching a licensed production of Su-35 in China.

At present China is the largest foreign operator of Su-27/Su-30 Family fighters. A total of 281 jets of the family have already been delivered to the country. In addition, China has launched the production of J-11B fighter (in fact it is the clone of Su-27).

Su-35 was developed by Sukhoi design bureau. It is the 4++-generation multi-role super-maneuverable fighter. The fifth-generation technologies have been used during development of the fighter granting its superiority over other fighters of this class.

The key features of the aircraft are the new avionics based on the digital command information system, integrating the aircraft equipment; new radar with phased antenna array having an extended acquisition range and an increased number of simultaneously tracked and attacked targets; and new uprated engines with the thrust vectoring nozzle.

The analysis of performed work allows drawing a conclusion that Su-35/Su-35S has better aircraft performance than its counterparts and its aircraft equipment allows performance of wide range of objectives, specified by the military operational requirement. The aircraft’s potential allows exceeding all the 4 and 4 +-generation fighters like “Rafale” and EF 2000, upgraded F-15, F-16, F-18, F-35 and react against F-22A.

The serial production of Su-35S is being carried out by Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association named after Y.A. Gagarin (KnAAPO, part of Sukhoi Holding Company). At present the fighter is undergoing state testing. About 650 flights have already been performed.

The launch customer of Su-35 is Russian Ministry of Defense. The state contract on delivery of 48 aircraft by 2015 was signed in 2009.
