The Russian anti-aircraft missile troops will take delivery of new upgraded Pantsir-SM air defense system by 2015, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the representative of Russian Ministry of Defense, Air Forces, Igor Klimov.
He said that Aerospace Defense Military Academy (located in Tver) is holding a meeting of command personnel of the anti-aircraft missile troops.
For the first time the practical part of the meeting will be held at Tula-based “Konstruktoskoye Byuro Priborostroeniya” (stands for instrument design bureau), the developer and manufacturer of Pantsir systems. The Pantsir-S air defense system will be presented to the participants of the meeting. A total of over 90 people are taking part in the meeting, including commanders of the air defense missile units, senior officers of the anti-aircraft missile troops and air forces, representatives of military academies and industry.
