Krasnodar Air Force Academy will take delivery of 18 Yak-130 operational trainers in 2013. Thus the number of Yak-130 jets in its fleet will reach 52 ones, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the head of the Academy, Colonel Viktor Lyakhov.
Krasnodar Air Force Academy is the only military academy in Russia to train pilots for all branches of aviation. It turned 75 last weekend.

"At present our Borisoglebsk-based training facility is the only one to operate Yak-130 jets. Its fleet includes 34 vehicles. In 2013 we will take delivery of 18 more aircraft of the type, some of them will be operated by Kushevka air base", — Lyakhov said.

He added that Krasnodar Air Force Academy has a large aircraft fleet intended for training of pilots and maintenance personnel.

"Our fleet is diversified. The major ab initio trainer is L-39 (L-410 for pilots of military-transport, long-range, naval and anti-submarine aviation). We also operate Yak-130 and MiG-29 jets (Kushevka and Armavir air bases), Su-27s (Kushevka), An-26s (Balashov, Saratov Region) and Su-25s", — Viktor Lyakhov explained.

Krasnodar Air Force Academy was founded in 1938. More than 26 thousand specialists have been trained here (including more than 17 thousand pilots). More than 1000 Heroes of the USSR and 61 Heroes of Russia have graduated from the Academy.
