Passenger traffic of Russian airlines was over 72.38 million passengers during 10 months of 2013

Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines for October and the period of 10 months of 2013.

According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 191 450 704,14 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+15.6% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 4 118 787,62 thousand ton-kilometers (+1%).

During the accounting period (January-October 2013) Russian carriers have transported 72 380 203 passengers (+14.7% as compared to the same period of 2012). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 817 577 tons (+1.5%). The passenger load factor was 80.4% and the commercial load factor was 66.9%.

As for the October statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 7 141 514 passengers (+14.3%) and 87 561,69 tons of cargo and mail (+0.8%).

The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic in January-October 2013 are as follows: Aeroflot transported 17 607 926 passengers (+18.6% as compared to the same period of 2012), Transaero - 10 885 614 passengers (+22.2%), UTair Aviation - 7 026 482 passengers (+6.6%), Siberia - 5 988 906 passengers (+12%), Rossiya - 3 969 130 passenger (+7.3%). These five carriers have transported a total of 45 454 767 passengers (+15.4%) during 10 months, which is equal to 62.8% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.

The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 346 667 tons of cargo and mail (+18.6% compared to the same period of 2012), Aeroflot – 147 425,4 tons of cargo and mail (-7.7%), Transaero 54 823,3 tons of cargo and mail (+3.5%), Volga-Dnepr - 44 663,9 tons of cargo and mail (-16.6%), Siberia 29 369 tons of cargo and mail (-3.6%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 622 949,5 tons of cargo and mail (+5.8%) during 10 months, which is equal to 76.2% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
